Clipperton Imports Inc. (“Clipperton”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, for residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25.

Information we collect

Contact details (name, billing and delivery addresses, email, telephone); order and transaction details; account information if you create an account; your communications with us; and technical information (device, browser, IP address, pages viewed), collected in part through cookies.

Why we use it

To process and deliver your orders and handle payments; to provide customer service; to secure our website and prevent fraud; to comply with our legal obligations; and, with your consent, to send you our news and offers. You may withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email.

Sharing

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run our business (our e-commerce platform Shopify, payment processors, carriers, email and analytics tools), who are bound to protect it, or where required by law.

Storage outside Quebec and Canada

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, may store or process your information outside your province and outside Canada, notably in the United States. Before any such transfer, we ensure that the information will receive adequate protection.

Cookies

We use cookies necessary for the website to function and, subject to your choices, cookies for analytics and advertising. You can manage these through the cookie banner and your browser settings, and opt out of data sharing for targeted advertising on our Your Privacy Choices page.

Retention and security

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above and to meet our legal obligations, and we protect it with appropriate security measures.

Your rights

You may request access to your personal information, its correction, and the withdrawal of your consent. Residents of Quebec may also request the de-indexation or deletion of their information and the portability of computerized information, as provided by law. To exercise these rights, contact our Privacy Officer; we will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, if you reside in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

We may update this policy; the date at the top indicates the latest version.
